Archive for Canimao

This is an interesting and frustrating little cigar. It looks like it’s going to be a blast to smoke, but honestly turns out to be a bit laborious. The cigar is Figurado shaped, and has a natural wrapper. The first one I smoked, I kind of messed up – or should I say my cutter did. It didn’t cut well and to make a long story short, the draw was extremely thick. I thought this may have been due to the bad cut and some of the tobacco being pulled. So. Round two. I still found this cigar to have a thick draw – not as thick as the first one, but still much more so than my preference. Plus, at the beginning, I had a hard time keeping it lit. But, after smoking the cigar down about 2/3 of the way, it became quite enjoyable (which, honestly, added a bit to the frustration). Once it got good, it was great. If only the whole cigar could have smoked the way the last third did. I still have one more of these suckers in my humidor, but will likely not buy or smoke any of this variety after that. I also have a normal Robusto of the Canimao line, which I’m hoping will be as good as the Jibaro should have been.
